Hi, I’m Annie

I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor from Ohio. My approach to therapy is rooted in a genuine curiosity and open-mindedness for people’s stories, as well as the idea that connection is healing.

I firmly believe that within our brains, bodies, and nervous systems, we have a natural capacity to heal our emotional and mental wounds. It is when trauma and overwhelming stress become stuck we can lose access to these abilities, leaving us disconnected from ourselves, others, and joy of life itself. Connecting with someone in a safe, supportive, and grounded environment allows you to begin processing experiences and building your resources in order to remove these blocks and rediscover what has been lost, silenced, or hidden away.

Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, overwhelming stress, or have experienced trauma, know that healing is possible. And it doesn’t have to be done alone. I’m here to walk with you on your journey to reconnection.

Finding Your Individual Path to Healing

  • Your Story Defines the Journey

Before we even start any work together, I offer all prospective clients a free, 15-minute phone consultation. This allows you to get a deeper sense of who I am, allows me to get a better understanding of what you’re looking for, and ensures I am the right fit for you and your needs.

If we decide to move forward together, we will then schedule your first appointment, an extended, 90-minute session. This allows time for us to explore where you have been and what's happening now, then clarify where you want to be. We’ll work together to create a plan to help get you there based on your individeal experiences and needs. From this point on, your plan will guide the work we do together, acting as the road map for your personal journey.

  • Taking Action With What's Important

I draw from several evidence based modalities of therapy in my work. This includes EMDR, DBT, CBT, ACT, and Somatic Techniques. Therapy should not be a one-size-fits-all process and instead should meet you where you are. I tailor what we do to what you need, to ensure the best outcomes possible. This also means we’re not just talking about your problems, but taking real action to allow you to heal.

In addition to the evidence-based methods I utilize, I am also a big believer in incorporating what is important to you into our work together. This can mean integrating your spiritual beliefs, sharing creative endeavors, or using your interests in therapeutic ways. Bringing what’s meaningful to you into therapy provides additional tools for self-expression and creating meaning that are as unique as you.

Ready to jump right in? Still have some question? Wherever you are, I’m ready to meet you there.
